What customers say?

“ What a little gem!! My Sister had raved about this little tearoom, so when she invited me for lunch today, I couldn't wait to go. The owner and staff were incredible; very chatty but not overbearing, knowledgeable about the teas and food they serve and very efficient & polite. I had the breakfast tea and the toasted beef, onion and chutney sandwich, followed by a slice of the most delicious cake. Everything was made to order and honestly, I have never had beef as tender in a sandwich before, it literally melted in my mouth. The homemade chutney was stunning and even the side salad had a beautiful dressing on it. I will most definitely be back again soon, the entire visit was so nice and I'm extremely happy to be supporting another well deserving local business ”

“ Wow! What can I say, absolutely amazing!. We arranged for my daughter to have an afternoon tea for her baby shower here. There was just 8 of us going. We where aloud to decorate and arrived 20 mins before the party started to trim the table, get games ready and arrange balloons. My 2 daughters are Coeliac and this was catered for in full. They even made me a gluten free baby shower cake, covered in pink buttercream, so I could decorate it on the day. The food is out of this world. The tea is proper tea leaves in a fancy tea pot with matching tea cup and saucer, and is a fantastic cup of tea. Then at the end of the party the staff where so happy to help tidy up and offered to get rid of all the decorations/balloons etc that weren't wanted. They even lent us a big cake carrier to take the baby shower cake home and gave us loads of boxes to put anything we hadn't managed to eat in home. If you or someone you know is Coeliac, or you just want some good food and a decent cuppa this tea room is the best. Thank you Maggies tea room, you made our day. ”

“ Absolutely stunning home made food. I had the curry today and it was AMAZING! Everything is delicious, the gluten free options are second to none, and to top it off it is in a beautiful setting, with a peaceful outdoor area full of gorgeous flowers. The service is wonderful and the owners are so warm and welcoming, and their home made cakes and mains are gorgeous! ”

“ Maggies is just brilliant! As a vegetarian coeliac I feel so safe and well catered for! All the cakes are gluten free as standard and delicious, most (if not all) of the mains can be made gluten free and the gf bread is honestly better than the normal bread I remember! Just been for afternoon tea and incredible! Thanks Maggie et al ”

“ I had my baby shower here and we opted for the afternoon tea, including a gluten-free option for me as I’m celiac. I honestly couldn’t have asked for a better experience. The gluten-free afternoon tea was clearly prepared with care, not an afterthought, and everything was delicious and beautifully presented. The staff made me feel completely at ease about my dietary needs, which made the day even more enjoyable. Such a lovely venue for a baby shower — calm, elegant, and welcoming. I would absolutely return ”

“ the most gorgeous and independent tea room i’ve ever had the pleasure in going to! for me, the biggest winner was the vast range of gluten free goodies on offer! usually its hard to just find somewhere to get a sandwich, cake and cuppa, but maggies is the place!! the food was DELICIOUS!! the staff were super friendly and attentive! i will 100% go back again and again! ”

“ Absolutely stunning! Highly recommend!! Myself and my team booked the festive afternoon tea as a part of our Christmas celebrations. We were made very welcome by the lovely staff on arrival. The tea room was beautifully decorated and had a wonderfully warm and cosy atmosphere. The quality and flavour of the food was excellent, it was obvious that every item was made from the highest quality ingredients with love and care. Mr Maggies scotch eggs and Mrs Maggies gingerbread cupcakes were a particular highlight. We will definitely be making return visits. ”
